Hear from our patients
Cairns Hospital staff have helped a Mareeba man walk again.
Ben Crous, 60, has thanked the ‘amazing’ support of medical professionals who have got him back on his feet after he lost part of his left leg and hip following a bone cancer diagnosis in 2007.
Years later an invasive infection resulted in the total removal of his leg through to the hip joint. He has since been fitted with a prosthetic limb, and learnt to walk again.
“It’s very easy to chase dreams when the people around you are there for you.”
